Prenatal Yoga: A Complete Home Practice for a Healthy Mother and Baby DVD

$25.00
120 minutes

This program includes three short routines to cultivate different facets of yoga practice that will help prepare you for childbirth and motherhood.

Each routine focuses on a different set of poses and a different aspect of the breath:

#1: Open: In “Open,” you’ll use seated and kneeling poses to connect body and breath and to center yourself. In this routine, you’ll learn to open to maintain a relaxed and open state, both mentally and physically. This open state brings more oxygen into your system, nourishing you and your baby and carrying away toxins.

#2: Focus: This routine includes standing and seated poses to bring more energy through your body and develop strength, flexibility and confidence. You’ll cultivate one-pointed attention that you sustain throughout the practice. Focus will help you learn to maintain a reference point in the midst of distractions—a useful skill for both childbirth and for mothering.

#3: Surrender: Surrender features side lying poses to enhance a sense of release. Experiencing a sense of surrender in your yoga practice prepares you for labor by helping you learn to release and recover energy between contractions.

Deep Relaxations for Pregnancy CD

Deep Relaxations for Pregnancy CD

$10.00
30 minutes

Relaxation is an essential part of concluding any session of yoga practice, and it’s a great tool to practice on its own. During pregnancy, taking time for yourself can be a challenge. Using these relaxations can help you develop the skill to unwind when you need to—a skill you’ll find useful for both pregnancy and motherhood!

This CD includes the audio portion of the three guided relaxation sessions from the Prenatal Yoga: A Complete Home Practice for a Healthy Mother and Baby DVD. When you’re using the DVD, you can mix and match the relaxations with your yoga routine. Or when you’re away from your tv or computer, you can use the CD to help you relax wherever you most need it.

We’ve included three different deep relaxations so you can experience different ways of letting go. Each of these deep relaxations features a different tool to help you tune in more deeply to yourself and your baby:

#1 Flower invites you to open your senses and to breathe in the fragrance of your favorite flower. You’ll open to the subtle sensation of inward movement and learn to draw things into yourself in a deeper way.

#2 Feather frees you from your body to float like a feather on air. You’ll experience a sense of expansion and of being freed from your usual boundaries, helping you to expand into the experience of motherhood.

#3 Clock uses a ticking clock sound to establish a relaxed breath. The tool here is to balance your inhales and exhales, then lengthen your exhale to deepen the relaxation response.
